Awesome
One of the few (actually the ONLY one) typing games ot get me hooked. I am now typing this message in rapid time :D
With a few optimizations, your game could be fit for teaching typing in school! I played to 100,000 points, them my arms got tired (it's kinda late at night right now).
The animations weren't boring (true, I was looking at the keyboard about half the time, heh), and the sound was interesting enough that it wasn't annoying. The way that robot can kill in rampage mode, just wow. He owns majorly ^.^
Keep up the good work, and you might just break out of Flash into commercial design if you aren't already. Looking forward to QWERTY Warriors 3!
Awesome!
The only thing that kept me from giving it a 10, was that it gets way too hard to control a medium-fast speeds.
If you do make a sequel, please make it Wii-compatible (Flash 7, I believe)! :D
Coding Errors
I tried the basic adventure game tutorial, and I ran into quite a few problems.
1. The points object didn't add to my score, it just stayed at NAN
2. Enemies didn't hurt.
3. The score went up like crazy!
I followed the directions EXACTLY.
Very discriptive, but
It was very desciptive, but some parts were not explained enough. I didn't get the masking part, you did not provide where to get the mask.
Graphics- 5
Simple, not much more would've been needed anyways
Style- 5
Adequate for a tutorial
Sound- 0
None that I could find
Violence- 0
Violence shouldn't be in a Tutorial anyways
Interactivity- 5
again, fine for a Tutorial
Humor- 0
none that I could find
Overall- 9
With he exception of the part I explained, it was perfect. Nice job.
Awesome!
The best flash game maker I've ever seen. A couple suggestions though.
1) Make another that can put your codes together into a game
2) Maybe some song when the guy dances as he touches the flag?
3) Fix a couple glitches
4) More objects, such as baddies
Otherwise, it's a great game, 5/5!
Simple
Simple tutorial, and that's what we need more of. Really easy to learn buttons from this, although I use the preset actionscript to the left of the box. Hey, is that the music from the Koopa Beach track on Mario Kart 64?
Yes, in fact it is!
So...
To improve, make the paddle stiffer, and make it a higher frame-rate, maybe 30-60?
Yaay! 275 pts!
It's not true that I don't know about 8-bit games! I'm just not very familiar with Atari. Can't wait for the Nintendo one!
Grat Tutorial!
Thi is a geat tutorial but I've tried it twice and I cant get my box to pick up the circle item!
